Privacy policy

Who I am

This website belongs to Farhan Memon, an independent developer who works remotely, from outside the UAE, with businesses in the UAE and elsewhere. In this policy, 'I' and 'me' refer to Farhan Memon, who decides how the personal data described here is used.

I have no office or establishment in the UAE. This policy is written with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) in mind, because many visitors to this site are in the UAE.

What I collect

When you send an enquiry through the form, I receive the details you enter: your name, your business name if you give it, your email address, your phone or WhatsApp number if you give it, the type of project, an optional budget band, your message and how you would like me to reply.

If you contact me by email or WhatsApp instead, I receive whatever you choose to send through those services, which have their own privacy policies.

I don't ask for, and you shouldn't send, identity documents, Emirates ID numbers, passport details or payment card details.

Why I use it

I use your details only to reply to your enquiry, discuss your project and, if we agree to work together, to prepare a quote and manage that work. The basis is the consent you give by sending the form, and the steps needed before and during a contract you ask for.

I don't sell your data, add you to a mailing list, or send you marketing messages unless you separately ask me to.

How enquiries are delivered and stored

Form submissions travel over an encrypted connection and are delivered to my email inbox by an email delivery service. The website itself does not keep a database of enquiries.

The website's hosting, the email delivery service and my email provider may store or process your data outside the UAE. They act only to deliver and store messages on my behalf.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiry messages for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any project that follows, and in any case no longer than 24 months after our last contact, unless we work together and records must be kept longer for accounting or legal reasons.

Analytics

This site may use privacy-friendly analytics that do not use cookies, to count visits and actions such as button clicks. Form contents are never sent to analytics. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect.

Spam protection

To protect the form from automated spam, the site checks how quickly the form was filled in and briefly limits how many submissions one connection can send. Your IP address is used for that check for a short time only and is not stored with your enquiry.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent, or object to how your data is used, at any time.

To make a request, send a message through the contact page and say what you would like me to do. I'll respond within one month.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections, access to my email and hosting accounts is protected, and I keep only what I need.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
